In the beginning of the industrial revolution everything was horrible unless you were a monopoly, then it was heaven for you , you had a business that made you a huge profit because there were no laws about how you would treat your employees everything was up tp you . most if not everyone treated their employees bad , they didn't care if the working conditions were safe and they wanted you to work for as long as possible and you were extremely underpaid but people needed a job so they worked for you for cheap and you profited off your employees .
The social classes were pretty much everyone was poor unless you had a business and you profited from it by mistreating your employees, you could not climb up the social class if you were poor you were going to be poor forever because you made barely enough to pay for your housing if that even . because you were extremely underpaid there wasn't much you could buy so if you spend whatever you did make on trying to survive where were you going to get money to save and start a business and move up the social class? You werent . you weren't going to get money and move up you were doomed , poor/struggling for the rest of your life.
The sizes of housing you had to live in with what you got paid was unbelievable, the housing was small and they were pricey for what you got paid , often times you would have roommates live with you to split the rent/bills you would have to spend the majority if not all of your paycheck just to pay rent . parents didn't earn enough from two incomes so they put their kids to work to help pay to live and the kids were more underpaid than parents, there was no such thing as equal pay you got paid depending on the task,you gender,or your age .
After the industrial revolution, laws were made to protect workers. Why? Because they had enough of the working and living conditions , they were living worse than wild animals and no one could do anything about it because there was no law . well now that they stood up and spoke they go government involved and got laws passed to protect them . theses laws introduced minimum wage which is the minimum amount an employer must pay you . these laws also introduced work hours, which means that you weren't allowed to be overworked , these laws also introduced safer working conditions and all these laws really improved the world around the workers.
After laws were put in place to help protect the workers from the industrial revolution , you saw social classes being built , there was no longer just poor and upper class , there was a middle class too . and if you were poor you could move up the social class you weren't necessarily doomed to be poor forever . and if you were in the middle class you could also move up tp the upper class . this happened because there was limits in power put into place these laws built the social class and helped the people and put limits to the businessman who took advantage .
Because people got paid somewhat fairly now , after these laws were passed, cities expanded , people could now afford to buy land and houses and because of that cities got bigger and jobs were created . jobs that require people to build all these buildings and towns which also helped the economy
