Transportation


Before there were steam engines during the industrial revolution , it was hard and time consuming to transport goods across america and overseas. Once the steam engine was invented in 1698 by Thomas savery , it led to a better inventions, the steam boat , the train . these two inventions really helped to transport goods 10 times the speed they used to be transported . the train being invented led to goods being transported faster and it also created jobs for people, some people worked on the tracks for the train to drive on , some people were train conductors or ticket collectors , the train helped the economy by offering new types of jobs for people . the invention of the train also decreased the death, sometimes people would die trying to transports goods . the steamboat was an important invention because people could travel overseas quicker than by the boats they were using , they had sail boats which used the wind to travel , and they also just used paddles and manually rowed the boat to travel . But with the steam boat no work was necessary and you could get to places and transport goods quicker. This also created jobs for people and helped the economy as well. Transporting goods as quickly and safely as possible was good for the company's because that allows them to make more money more quickly.
